Description
simple life, the water carrier in guilin, china
Thank you for taking an interest in 'simple life'. I used Photoshop7 at that time for this painting. The reference for this painting was a bw Photograph shot by a friend 'Gerald Gay' [link] in guilin, china. but the painting looks very different from the reference, as I made significant changes to the landscape, colors and lighting. Basically, I worked with 3 layers, Background, the water carrier, and the rocky road. started by a simple sketch of the water carrier in bw lines and shades in PS, The back ground were fairly easy actually, just don't zoom in too much when you paint it, since you want it to remain a little out of focus for a better depth of field, as for the water reflections, try some finger painting technique. Frankly, i do not have a fixed technique, just keep practicing it.
Thanks again for your visit and comments. The support means so much to me, I truly appreciate it.

This is beautiful and so well done. I can't believe you drew this on a COMPUTER. Oh and congrats on the DD, but that was in 2006, so I'm pretty late :/
