I just adore how the painting depicts captured light so beautifully. Your work is incredibly gorgeous.

I hope you will permit me a small constructive critique of this particular piece..as I am an art student and we are learning how to critique. Although this is beautiful as I have stated above, I feel that this does not *quite* have the 3-dimensional look as most of your other work. By that I mean the difference is very VERY slight. I can't quite put my finger on how, though I have a feeling it is related to the amount of white on the goldfish. Perhaps it's just me, but I thought there was far less reflection of light on these particular black fish? Either way, I wonder if using less white on him would be in your favour for a piece like this.

Just as a note, did you ever notice that the shadow of the glass is completely blank? It's interesting and eerie, like thinking of a vampire trying to look in a mirror.

I used to have a little fishy just like this one. Yours looks so real that I could swear I just saw the fins flutter out of the corner of my eye when I looked away! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing talent.
